Questions to Ask About Installing a New Pool - TMC Custom Pools

An in-ground pool is a great way to boost your home’s value and get more enjoyment out of it. But it’s also a big investment, and you’ll want to make sure that you’re completely comfortable with the process before moving forward. Write down a list of your questions to ask the pool contractor. The following questions can help you get started.

What’s the right location for my new pool?

The pool contractor will evaluate the available land to determine the ideal location for your pool. However, you shouldn’t hesitate to give the contractor your input. Do you want the pool hidden from view from the front of the house? Do you want the pool close to the house so that you can build a deck or patio that extends to it?

What’s the right size and shape for my pool?

While you’re thinking about the best location for your pool, consider other factors like the ideal size and shape. The contractor will design your pool to suit its intended purposes. If you want to use it primarily for exercise, then a rectangular pool would be best so that you can easily swim laps. If you want to use it primarily for relaxation, then you could have a smaller pool with a more creative shape.

What sort of equipment will I need?

There’s more involved to installing a new pool than just excavating the ground and installing the gunite. The pool contractor can provide you with a full list of everything else your pool will need, from the pool heater to the plumbing and electrical service. You’ll also need pumps, lights, and filters.
