Planning a Pool Installation? Draw Inspiration from These Famous Swimming Spots - TMC Custom Pools

Swimming is one of the few athletic activities that can also be considered a luxurious, relaxing pastime. If you’re planning a new pool installation, you can look forward to years of rest and relaxation right on your own property. Not sure how to design your pool? Take your inspiration from the following famous swimming spots.

Hanging Gardens in Bali, Indonesia

You’ve probably heard of the legendary Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Hanging Gardens of Bali surely comes close to achieving legendary status as well. This hotel and luxury resort destination is located in the heart of the Ubud jungle. Its award-winning swimming pool is often called one of the world’s most photographed pools. It’s a two-level infinity swimming pool that stands above the strikingly beautiful rainforest. Swimmers have the sensation of floating above the trees.

Hearst Castle Pools in San Simeon, California

Hearst Castle is an ornate estate built by William Randolph Hearst. It features two breathtaking pools. The newly renovated Neptune Pool is an outdoor installation. It’s quite large, and its architectural elements bring to mind classic Roman architecture. The second pool, the Roman Pool, is an indoor installation. It features exquisite tiled mosaics and statues of Roman gods, goddesses, and heroes. Its style takes after the classic Roman bathhouses.

Market Square Tower Pool in Houston, Texas

Most homeowners dream of the luxury of an in-ground pool. But one hotel took a radical new direction and built an above-ground pool. Market Square Tower is a high-rise apartment building with a glass-bottom swimming pool that hangs 42 stories above the street. Most of the pool is located on the main part of the building. However, 10 feet of swimming space is cantilevered over the edge of the rooftop, with a clear view 500 feet down.
